Beng Mealea Temple

Ancient city surrounded by a laterite
wall overlooking the moat 50m wide. And contemporary dimensions comparable to
those of Angkor Wat which resume the plan, this temple is one of the shrines had
not delivered for entries: s'agisait it royal monuments or private foundation?
Despite some Hindu theme illustration, found on most of the lintels, pediments
and pillastres, it seems that this temple was Buddhist inspiration.
The site of Beng Méal covers an area of 110 hectaures and includes many
shrines including the temple of Beng Méal itself occupies only the center.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding its construction, this set is attached to
the style of Angkor Wat.
